Boeing F-15K Slam Eagle Diecast Model. RoKAF 11th FW, 122nd FS, #02-2004, Taegu AB, South Korea. Length 3.75", Width 2.5". The F-15K Slam Eagle is an advanced derivative of the F-15E, operated by the Republic of Korea Air Force. Several major components were outsourced to various Korean companies as part of an offset agreement, wherein Korea was responsible for 40% of production and 25% of assembly.

In 2002, ROKAF selected the F-15K for its F-X fighter program, during which the F-15K, the Dassault Rafale, the Eurofighter Typhoon and Sukhoi Su-35 were evaluated. A total 40 aircraft were ordered with deliveries beginning in 2005. Aircraft of second batch differs from the first batch in having Pratt & Whitney F100-PW-229 (EEP) engines, license-produced by Samsung Techwin, for commonality with the KF-16 fleet. Republic of Korea Air Force has received 50 F-15Ks by June 2011.

Designed to meet US Air Force requirements for an air superiority fighter to replace the F-4 Phantom, the F-15 Eagle first flew on July 27, 1972. The Air Force needed a fighter that could engage long range targets, a skill the F-4 did not possess. The F-15 has a pulse-Doppler radar system, which can track small high-speed targets up to 120 nautical miles away and can lock its missile onto targets up to 50 nautical miles away.

With more than 100 aerial combat victories, the F-15 is said to be one of the most successful modern fighters. It is expected to remain in service until 2025. The Hogan Wings "M-Series" range presents detailed, ready-made diecast models of military aircraft in 1:200 scale.
